Handgun Safety and Shooting Fundamentals (Part 1) is a 3-hour dry-fire class (no live ammo)
that will introduce those new to shooting or with limited professional training, or just needing a refresher to basic handgun safety and shooting fundamentals using a variety of dry-fire training aids to get students acquainted with safely handling a handgun,. For those that have not yet purchased a handgun, we have a variety of to use for this class. Many have found they cannot handle their guns properly for "defensive" handgun safety and shooting. We have several they have ended up liking and able to work well for them.
This class is also ideal for new shooters before going to a live fire range, and also for those that have taken a CCW class and are still uncomfortable handling their firearm.
Dry fire is widely recognized as the best way to practice getting proper gun safety and shooting fundamentals ingrained into neural pathways (aka muscle memory) as students can concentrate much better on each aspect of gun handling and shooting fundamentals when broken down into "small learning chunks", more so than they can during live fire. With live fire, most new shooters will not think about proper stance, proper grip, trigger management, recoil management and other fundamentals which can create training scars.. These fundamentals are best learned in dry-fire lessons and practice. 90% of gun handling and shooting proficiency can be learned through dry-fire. Live fire at a range confirms those fundamentals with actual recoil, and where shot placement issues can be diagnosed and corrected.
