Handgun Safety and Shooting Fundamentals (Part 2) is a 4-hour live fire class as a continuation to the Part 1 dry-fire class. Handgun safety and shooting fundamentals learned in Part 1 will be further reinforced using live ammo where shot placement can be diagnosed to correct issues affecting accuracy and basic gun handling. Please see class dates below, or call to find out about other scheduling options for smaller groups, or one or two at a time private lessons.
Upcoming Part 2 Group lass dates SOLD OUT through December. Please message us if interested in a group class in January 2025. Classes subject to cancellation (and refund) if less than minimum of 4 students or adverse weather. Private lessons at indoor range also available. See "Private Lessons" page for more details.
Prerequisites: Completion of Part 1 dry-fire class, and SIGNED WAIVER (CLICK HERE)
Cost for this class is $200. Includes Instructor fee and range fee. Check, cash or ZELLE (Zelle preferred - use Larry Hansen Ph or email for Zelle)
Bring own ammo. 150 rounds. Factory ammo only, no reloaded ammo.
Rent a gun: $20. If you have not yet purchased a handgun prior to this live fire class, Prescott Firearms Training has a variety to choose from to rent. Call or text Larry Hansen (760) 668-2486 to discuss before making payment, as some may already be reserved.
Required Equipment (no exceptions):
1.) Semi-automatic handgun. Please let us know what handgun and caliber you will be using (unless renting one of ours). If interested in revolver gun training, please contact us.
2.) Two magazine minimum, or more if you have them (unless renting handgun from us)
3.) Eye protection.
4.) Electronic ear protection.. Must be "electronic" ear protection for enhanced hearing to hear range commands.. Please call if not sure about your ear protection being "electronic". (If it does not use batteries, it's not electronic).
Other Misc.
Chairs: May need to bring a chair to sit while loading ammo and taking a break, depending on which outdoor range we will be using. Will confirm in email once a class has been scheduled..
Clothing: Please dress according to weather forecast. No low cut tops where spent brass may get inside shirt.
Sun lotion.
Water and snacks. For lunch or a snack break.
